Mr.Martin developed a medical condition which is quite difficult to comprehend for a typical Indian, the so called Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. In fact, His OCD findings were noted under not widely seen category.
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder where people feel the need to check things repeatedly, perform certain routines repeatedly, or have certain thoughts repeatedly. People are unable to control either the thoughts or the activities for more than a short period of time. Common activities include hand washing, counting of things, and checking to see if a door is locked.
Let’s rewind into mid 80’s, whereby Mr.Martin was a hardworking high school chap who started to develop an fear of micro organisms out of no where. Interesting to note that he started washing and cleaning his hands a minimum of 10 times in an hour and was constantly loving to live under showers. Worried Mom and took him to the local psychiatrist. Despite his trips to the local hospital, Mr.Martin was too obsessed to get his urges of OCD under control. He desperately needed some help
Not hard to guess, Mr.Martin was forced to leave high school cited that he was obsessed spending more time in wash rooms than in Class rooms. He had to quit his part-time job for the same reason as well. Things were getting worse day by day.
One fine day, Mr.Martin decided to take matters seriously since he was so depressed and paralyzed with the fear of his own body. He told his mother that he couldn’t go on anymore and He wanted a permanent solution. After all the crying hustle and rustle, his mom had to responded , “If your life is so wretched, just go and shoot yourself.”
You know what – that’s exactly what Mr.Martin had originally planned. All it needed was little motivation and execution. He managed to earn a pistol, pointed it below his chin, and pulled the trigger.
Like any other Bond movie – The bullet tore past his skull and slammed into the left front lobe of his brain. Knowingly or Unknowingly the bullet hit the bulls eye. Yes, it cracked open the part of his brain responsible for the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
Fortunately, Mr.Martin survived, and when he opened his eyes in the ICU ward, he found that his fear of micro organisms and OCD had got its way along with the piece of his brain. He had cured himself with a miraculous brain surgery by a gunshot, notably in less than a second.
Who cares of the following legal actions that he was forced and his medications for depression, while his overwhelming obsessions of OCD had already bid good bye.
Well .. Let me wind up with a little disclaimer: Don’t try this at home.
